911 Thru-body Sway Bar Reinforcement Kits Available Now
Press Release
Santa Clara, CA (January 13, 2014) – Elephant Racing has announced availability of chassis reinforcement Panels for Porsche 911, 912 and 930 built between 1965 and 1989. While the venerable 911 chassis has proven remarkably durable, sheet metal cracks around the springplates and front swaybar mounts are increasingly common due to metal fatigue. Cracks are especially common in cars used for competition and performance driving. These weld-in reinforcement panels prevent or repair cracks that can develop in these vulnerable areas.
The panels are precision laser-cut and formed from 18 gauge steel. Swaybar plates are designed to distribute the loads into the bulkhead double-layer sheet metal just beyond the original single-layer hole location. While the Spring Plate Panels distribute the torsion bar and spring plate loads into the torsion tube housing and multi-layer sheet metal just beyond the original mounting boss locations.
The Spring Plate Reinforcement kit also includes a stud alignment tool for easier re-assembly. Excess heat during the welding process tends to distort the sheet metal. The stud alignment tool will help maintain original mounting stud spacing.
The kits are available for immediate purchase through www.ElephantRacing.com. For more info call 1-408-297-2789.
